The weeks turn over on campus and papers have been published. There are many stories that never even make it to a page. That's what happened with one I was covering. Associated Student Organization (ASO) was starting to take donations on campus for refugees of Haiti and Chile.
Although this story never ran in the paper I really feel it is an important issue. The donations will be taken for a few weeks in the Library and Student Services Center. The donations will be given directly to the American Red Cross, and go services in the affected countries.
“If every student donates $1, we could raise at least $15,000,” Elizabeth Mercado, ASO Director of Student Community Advancement, said. For more information on helping the Red Cross go to http://www.redcross.org/en/
