This event was the best journalism training I have ever had! It was living the life of a journalist through this three day long event. It was the most stress and fun I have had for a long time and gave me a breath of fresh air to fight for my dream of being a photojournalist. It also helped me confirm that this is what I want to do with my life, before it is too late. I recommend going to workshops and events based on your major to gain knowledge and also help point you in the direction you really want to take your life.
The best part was being able to compete in the photo competitions. I was able to do the news photo competition and the feature competition. They were intense and stressful! For our feature photo the assignment was to go out with all the other competitors and find your photo on Hollywood Boulevard. It was like really being out and looking for a wild art photo or even fining that feature story.

While I was there I got closer with my news staff and I have gained friends for life out of this experience. I also got to interact with known media members that took their time to teach in presentations that are tools I will use on everyday assignments. I am so grateful to yet again have another opportunity to grow as a photojournalist and am excited to put my new tips to work.
